How many times can I take the GMAT?

You can take it as many times as you wish to, but NOT more than 5 times in a year.

What is the validity of my TOEFL Scores?

Your TOEFL (and/or IELTS) scores are valid for two years.

If I take the GMAT or GRE more than once, does it create a negative impression on my college?

Technically, NO. The college admissions committee would judge your profile based on your Best score on the tests, not on how many times you took the test. However, it is advisable not to take the test more than 4 or 5 times.

What is the passing score on the SAT? What is a good score on the SAT?

Unlike regular school or college exams, any standardized test, including the SAT, does not have a pass or fail score. There is not even any fixed ‘good’ or ‘bad’ score on these tests. Different universities have different cut off scores for students. Thus, a good score is one that gets you into your college of choice.

If I get a 330 on the GRE, does that guarantee me admissions into my dream college?

Not really. A great score on any standardized test, including the GRE, does immensely boost your admissions chances. However, that is not the only criterion that would get you into your dream school. In addition to your test scores, colleges will consider other aspects of your profile, such as your academics, your work experience, your essays and recommendations, while deciding upon your admissions chances.

If I take the GMAT more than once and have varying scores, which one will the college accept?

Most colleges usually take your Best Score, no matter in which attempt you secured it.

Is the IELTS easier than the TOEFL?

Well, there is no data which proves so. The TOEFL is a computer based test while the IELTS is paper based. While both of them are a test of your written and spoken English proficiency, the tests are scored differently. Most universities require one of these two tests as a measure of a candidate’s English language skills.

If I have done my schooling or college from a US university, do I still need to take the TOEFL or IELTS?

No, usually in such cases there is a waiver.

On my SAT day, what documents and stationary do I need to carry with me?

For international students, the ONLY valid identification proof is your passport which should be valid for the next six months. You are only allowed to use 2HB pencils to bubble your answers and a scientific calculator is allowed for one of the two Math sections.

Is the experimental section of the GRE announced to the student during the test?

No. While every student gets an Experimental section, nobody can predict which one it is and where it appears on the test.
